Resistance training may improve blood sugars

Recommendations for resistance training, along with other guidelines, were recently issued by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Diabetes Association as part of the new workout guidelines for type 2 diabetes patients. In honor of February’s American Heart Month, Vickie Nesselhauf, exercise physiologist for St. Anthony’s Cardiac Rehab program, will discuss creating a balanced and safe exercise plan based on the new guidelines. You’ll also get the chance to sample some heart healthy foods that you may have never tried before. You won’t want to miss this informative and energetic presentation! The meeting will be held in the Conference/Dining Room at the Hyland Education and Training Center on St. Anthony’s campus. Registration is appreciated, but not required (314-ANTHONY).
