March is National Nutrition Month, an annual month-long event dedicated to recognizing the importance of good nutrition. This year’s theme is, “Eat Right with Color;” a slogan that urges the public to cut through the clutter of (mis)information and get back to the basics of a healthy diet. The theme encourages us to build healthy diets by focusing on color to increase the variety of nutrients we consume. It reminds us that not only are calories important, but so is the source. In a day and age where an alarming 2/3 of American adults and 1/3 of our children are overweight or obese, we have to begin improving our lifestyles to slow this growing health concern. So start with the basics and create a rainbow on your plate! Visit our blog weekly through the month of March to read a new post on National Nutrition Month.
