Do you help care for a child with diabetes? The American Diabetes Association is sponsoring a free program “Friends & Family: Diabetes 101” on Saturday, September 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.
This is a course in basic diabetes management for grandparents, neighbors, teachers, nurses, babysitters, child care workers and other individuals who care for a child with diabetes. Special break-out sessions will provide an overview of diabetes, information on insulin, insulin pumps, syringes and pens, carbohydrate counting, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia and glucose monitoring. This course is led by AADE Certified Diabetes Educators.
