Ever curious about how long your walking or running route is? If you want to bypass the old-fashioned-way of driving in the car to track the mileage, try one of my favorite resources for calculating the distance on your route: It’s a free resource available on the Web and as an application on your smartphone. Sign up for a free account and type in your address, then click on the map just like you’re following the streets as you walk. The website will track the distance as well as the details of your route: the incline, terrain, etc. If you’re super-motivated, you can keep a log of the time you spend exercising on each route too! If you have a smartphone, download the app and the GPS on your phone will track your progress as you walk or run. It doesn’t get much cooler (or easier) than that.
